About The Blog

Hi! Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit Cheshire To China! This blog is my personal diary documenting my adventures in and around China, as well as providing tips and tricks for travelling in China and learning Mandarin.

A little bit more about me, I currently live and work in the city “upon-the-sea”, the most populous city in the world – Shanghai! When I’m not teaching little minds to ever complicated English language, I’m generally studying the equally complicated Chinese language and/or tucked up in a cosy coffee shop somewhere. I previously spent three months living and working in Shanghai earlier in 2017, as well as visiting Taiwan. My Mandarin level is very much beginner, but I’m working on it and recording my progress as I go to provide recommendations to fellow learners.

Aside from learning the language, I’m also hugely interested in the Chinese music industry so I spend a lot of my time reading into it and am always on the look out for a good live music night in the city! I’m a big photography fan, and that is something I hope to work towards improving as I blog.

Speaking of the blog, here you will find mainly guides and tips for visiting the wonderful city of Shanghai, as well as any other cities I manage to visit during my time here. On top of that, there may be the odd language related post as I attempt to grasp at least a conversational level of Mandarin, outlining any good tips, tricks or platform that I come across.
